A calm, warmly lit therapy room

Individual Therapy

A safe space to explore, heal and move forward

Sometimes life experiences can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or struggling to move forward. Difficult or traumatic experiences can affect how we feel about ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. You may find yourself revisiting painful memories, experiencing anxiety or struggling with feelings that are difficult to understand.

How I can help

I offer individual Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) and Adults providing a warm, nurturing and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted. I have experience supporting people with a range of difficulties, including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, bereavement, phobias, difficult childhood experiences and challenges with self-esteem.

Areas I work with

  • Trauma & PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement & loss
  • Phobias
  • Difficult childhood experiences
  • Self-esteem & confidence

What is EMDR therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

EMDR is a psychological therapy that can help people process distressing memories and experiences. These experiences can sometimes continue to affect us long after the events themselves have passed. EMDR aims to help reduce the emotional distress associated with these memories, allowing us to develop new perspectives and move forward.

Therapeutic approaches

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to what works best for you as an individual.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing — a powerful, evidence-based therapy for trauma and distressing memories.

Person-centred

Placing your experience, values and goals at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.

Trauma-informed

Working with an understanding of how trauma affects the mind, body and nervous system.

Integrative

Drawing flexibly on multiple therapeutic models to find what works best for you.

Psychodynamic

Exploring how past experiences and relationships shape how we feel and behave today.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Identifying and gently challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.

Somatic

Attending to the body's responses as part of understanding and processing difficult experiences.

My approach

Compassionate, collaborative, at your pace

I recognise that everyone's experiences are unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I aim to offer a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. My priority is to help you feel safe, supported and understood as we work together to make sense of your experiences and explore the changes you would like to make.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but you don't have to have all the answers before you begin. We can start wherever you are.
